Our Experience Nan Dawkins Nan Dawkins is co-founder of RedBoots Consulting. Armed with over 20 years experience in marketing communications and public relations, deep roots in conventional advertising methods, and a track record of solid online wins, Ms. Dawkins brings a unique combination of experience to her clients in the retail, business to business and nonprofit sectors. Ms. Dawkins began her career at J. Walter Thompson/Washington, working on the national advertising campaigns of retail and consumer products accounts such as Burger King and Ford Motor Company. She opened her own agency in the 1980's, where she created several of the first television ads for Acura automobiles. After earning a Masters Degree in Public Policy at George Washington University, Ms. Dawkins applied her communications experience to the political advocacy field. Her interest in the Internet led her to create one of the first online advocacy campaigns on economic development issues and a virtual community for an international network of women leaders. She launched Redboots in the spring of 2001. Ms Dawkins' is a frequent speaker on a wide range of topics, including blogs and viral marketing, search engine public relations, and online fundraising and advocacy. She is a regular panelist at Danny Sullivan?s Search Engine Strategies Conferences. Ms. Dawkins is an Ironman triathlete and raises money each year for RedBoots' nonprofit clients by competing in extreme endurance sports events. Liz Murphy Liz Murphy is co-founder of RedBoots Consulting. Ms. Murphy has more than 20 years experience in marketing, with in-depth knowledge of database marketing and Internet technologies. She brings a unique expertise in integrated marketing to her clients, which include Union Privilege, Pew Oceans Commission, and CARE. Before founding RedBoots, Ms. Murphy was an Internet Strategist for the Commerce One Nonprofit Practice (formerly AppNet), an internet consulting company. She directed online marketing, technology development, and Web creative for clients such as Heifer Project International, the American Civil Liberties Union, and the Christian Children's Fund. Prior to that, Ms. Murphy was Associate Creative Director, Marketing, at the National Geographic Society. She developed and directed direct response marketing campaigns for the National Geographic magazines and the Television, Book, and Catalog divisions. Ms. Murphy is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Direct Marketing Association of Washington and is also an award-winning copywriter. She is a frequent speaker on online marketing, most recently at the Direct Marketing Association of Washington, the Philadelphia Direct Marketing Association Nonprofit Council, and the Performance Institute.
